This is a part of the Berlin Wall Memorial along Bernauer Str. at Ackerstrasse. There are large white and black photo reproductions along the side of the building with dates. I added my own thoughts in pencil after visiting the site that day, which reads, "Some men strive to control and dominate others. Most men strive for freedom. For 28 years the wall stood, expanding over time because people always found a way to cross this facile border. Just as our capacity to harm is limitless, the human spirit's pursuit of freedom never ceases."

The paper is one page of a sketchbook, cut at the seam and framed in a shadow box to display the paper's quality warped from watercolors and all artist marks, including location details, the number and color test strokes.
