This is the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. I walked to it and photographed it the day after Navalny's death, and there were many stacks of barricades around, as the Russian embassy was a short walk from the monument. The juxtaposition of the flimsy modern barricades against the enduring, colossal stone gate made for an interesting look at a place that's been documented many times over. 

The paper is one page of a sketchbook, cut at the seam and framed in a shadow box to display the paper's quality warped from watercolors and all artist marks, including location details, the number and color test strokes.
